Apple has been well known for being able to market its tech devices with so much success that they have a tendency to sell out quite quickly, but it appears as if the tech giant is still not able to keep up with demand. This latest from the king of the mobile device market has raised the suspicions of many tech market critics who believe the company is simply designing its own levels of scarcity in an effort to raise demand for its products and keep the media focused on the latest offerings it has which acts as free marketing for Apple. Whether or not this is the truth remains to be seen, but one thing is certain and that is that a huge number of iPhone 4 orders were missing from the company’s records after a presell disaster that has caused something a public relations nightmare for Apple. The preorders have been moved back to a later date and all those who have ordered from the official site of Apple will, in fact, have to wait longer than those customers who are going to buy them in a retail environment.
AT&T has also felt the crunch, stating that it will also not be able to take any more preorders after what it has stated as its largest day for online sales yet seen. Due to this, the company will be doing try to speed up the delivery process if possible, but the snags could limit their ability to do so, say some experts. All of this comes at a time when Apple is facing even more competition for the smart phone market and its investment into the iPad have stretched its resources across many fronts at it attempts to hold down a range of digital device markets which could prove tough.
